Quilted clip earrings with Garnet

     The earrings were inspired by a decorated pottery plate, dates to the early 1800's. A series of the “seed-pod” motif decorate the rim of the plate. Moravian potters worked in North Carolina during the period 1755-1900. The original plate is on exhibit in Old Salem, a living history museum, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.      24 Karat gold-plate over pewter, enhanced by Garnet cabochons. Each measures approximately 1" x 1.1".
