Islamic pendant

Recreated from one of the oldest examples of Islamic jewelry. The main design consists of a realistic palm trunk that supports a stylized tree bearing half-palmettes and trefoils. In the center is a heart-shaped unit enclosing a pair of adorned birds with half-palmette wings. The composition of the piece indicated that it belongs to the early Islamic Period. Syria(?) 8th century A.D. From the treasures of Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah, Kuwait National Museum.
