Product Description

Greek entwined Snake brooch

A symbol of the dual creative forces (good and evil) within the world of forms. When twined around a staff, the two snakes form the caduceus, a symbol of the messenger of the gods, Hermes. In Greek mythology, the caduceus was found when Hermes used the staff to separate two serpents locked in combat, and thus came to symbolize peace.
Inspired by the Greek bracelt on left.

24k antique gold-plate over pewter. Measures approximately 1.25” x 2”.
