Egyptian Fly post earrings
     This is a museum replica of a Fly motif, part of an Egyptian necklace, originated in the 18th Dynasty, from the burial of Queen Ah-hotpe, Western Thebes.
     The gold Fly was a honorary award given to the Egyptian military for persistence in attacking the enemy.
     24 Karat gold-plate over pewter. Sterling silver posts.
Inspired by the original image of the Fly on left.
Measures approximately 0.5" x 0.75".
